Concurrent Players in Load Testing

Load-tested a real-time B2B gaming platform, built from scratch as three NestJS microservices, with a custom simulation script of 1,000+ concurrent players joining and playing every round, then used the findings to cut redundant webhook calls and optimize database queries.

NestJSTypeScriptPostgreSQL (Prisma)RedisAWS SQS

Wallet Integration over Webhooks

Idempotent

Debit, credit and rollback with third-party operators over webhooks, so retried callbacks never apply a transaction twice. Outbound calls to operators run through a circuit breaker that isolates failing endpoints.

AWS SQS Settlement Workers

Event-Driven

Moved round settlement to AWS SQS workers, with each settled round triggering the next without blocking the main application flow.

Real-Time Updates Across Instances

Redis Pub/Sub

Scaled game state, player actions and live leaderboards across instances with authenticated Socket.io connections and Redis pub/sub, and cached frequently read game data in Redis to reduce PostgreSQL load.

About Me

Owning features end to end.

I'm a full stack developer with 4 years of experience building web applications and real-time systems on the MERN stack and NestJS, using TypeScript and JavaScript.

I work across backend services, APIs and databases as well as React frontends, owning features end to end from requirements to delivery.

My hands-on experience includes microservices, event-driven processing with AWS SQS, Redis, wallet integrations and role-based access control, including a real-time gaming platform load-tested for 1,000+ concurrent players. I've built products in real-time gaming, enterprise operations and e-commerce.

01
Coin Toss Game
B2B real-time gaming platform
NestJSTypeScriptPostgreSQL (Prisma)RedisAWS SQSSocket.io
  • Architected and built the platform from scratch as three NestJS microservices (game, cron, webhook) communicating through AWS SQS and shared Redis state, with structured logging via Pino.
  • Implemented an idempotent wallet integration with third-party operators for debit, credit and rollback over webhooks, so retried callbacks never apply a transaction twice.
  • Built a circuit breaker on outbound calls to operators to isolate failing endpoints, with circuit-breaker reports in the admin dashboard.
  • Moved round settlement to AWS SQS workers, with each settled round triggering the next without blocking the main application flow.
  • Load-tested the platform with a custom simulation script of 1,000+ concurrent players joining and playing every round, and used the findings to cut redundant webhook calls and optimize database queries.
  • Built a server-side RNG engine with operator-configurable payout rates, plus admin controls to pause or resume round creation and toggle maintenance mode.
  • Scaled real-time updates (game state, player actions, live leaderboards) across instances with authenticated Socket.io connections and Redis pub/sub, and cached frequently read game data in Redis to reduce PostgreSQL load.
02
Loyalty & Rewards Engine
Multi-brand gaming platform
ExpressMongoDBReact
  • Built a tiered VIP loyalty program end to end, where points earned on game-round settlement automatically promote players across tiers.
  • Delivered a daily rewards feature end to end: daily and deposit-triggered coin claims, plus a spin wheel with server-side weighted outcomes.
  • Made wheel segments and weights configurable per domain from the admin panel, and released both features behind per-domain feature flags on a single codebase serving multiple branded sites.
  • Enforced one reward claim per player per day at the database level with a unique index on player ID and day key.
03
Urban Genba
Enterprise operations applications
ReactAnt DesignHighcharts
  • Built frontends for three enterprise production applications, refining workflows from stakeholder field feedback as business processes changed.
  • Fixed typing lag in large dynamic forms by splitting them into smaller components and removing unnecessary re-renders with React.memo, useMemo and useCallback.
  • Implemented hierarchical role-based access control (RBAC) for multi-user permissions across application modules.
  • Built maintenance scheduling, repair ticketing, asset tracking and certificate generation modules, with Highcharts data visualizations.
04
LocumFind
Pharmacy staffing marketplace
ReactReduxWebSocketFullCalendar
  • Built the complete React frontend from scratch as the sole frontend developer for a marketplace connecting locum pharmacists with pharmacies.
  • Developed a multi-filter search UI with debounced input and paginated results, integrated with backend search APIs.
  • Implemented real-time chat over WebSockets with infinite-scroll message history.
  • Customized FullCalendar to display backend event data in a client-specified design, integrated Google Places address autocomplete, and managed application state with Redux.
05
Gajari
E-commerce platform
ExpressMongoDB
  • As an associate backend developer, fixed a production bug that generated duplicate invoice numbers at the year rollover, traced to a date-comparison mismatch in the numbering logic.
  • Implemented a coin rewards system: coins granted on successful Paytm payments and redeemable as a discount on the next purchase, with expiry.
  • Built coupon logic for discounts on selected products, rejecting invalid coupons when applied.

Beyond Client Work

URL Shortener

A URL shortener with click analytics, built to demonstrate system design and production-grade engineering practices.

Next.js (App Router)VercelMongoDB AtlasTailwind CSSGitHub ActionsTypeScriptVitest

Design

  • Click tracking uses the outbox pattern.
  • Click events are drained in bounded batches, triggered only by the external scheduler, never by reads.
  • The analytics dashboard is a pure read.
  • MongoDB Atlas only, with no Redis or external queue.
  • Tailwind CSS with CSS-variable-based theming.

Engineering Practices

  • TypeScript strict mode
  • Linting and formatting
  • Input and environment validation
  • Scoped Vitest test suite
  • CI

How It Works

  1. 01
    Click

A short link is visited and the click is recorded as an event in the outbox.

  2. 02
    Schedule

GitHub Actions, the external scheduler, triggers a drain.

  3. 03
    Drain

Outbox events are processed in bounded batches. Reads never trigger this.

  4. 04
    Read

The analytics dashboard is a pure read of the processed data.
